Custom & Bespoke Jewellery

Made for you, by hand.

Every piece in this shop was made by Natalia at our bench on the Central Coast of NSW. Sometimes you want one of those pieces — in your size, your stone, your gold. Sometimes you want something no one else has ever worn. Both are possible. Here’s how it works.

Two ways to commission a piece

Some pieces are easier to start. Others ask for more time at the bench. Choose the path that fits where you are.

Made to Order

If you’ve seen a piece in the shop and almost said yes — but it wasn’t quite your ring size, or you wanted it in 18ct yellow gold instead of silver, or you wanted the same setting with a different opal — Made to Order is the path. Natalia takes one of her existing designs and remakes it for you, in your specifications.

This suits you when there’s already a piece in the shop you love and you want a small, considered change to it: a different metal, a different stone, a different size, a longer chain, a wider band. The design language is Natalia’s; the personalisation is yours.

How it works

  1. Tell us what you want. Send a message with the piece you’re starting from and what you’d like changed. A photo of your wrist, neck, or hand helps us get sizing right.
  2. We confirm and quote. Natalia reviews the request, confirms what’s possible, prices the piece, and sends a quote with a real timeline.
  3. Natalia makes it. You’ll hear from us at the bench stage and again before final polish — often with a quick photo from the studio.
  4. It comes home. The finished piece is shipped tracked and insured. International shipping is available.

Pricing: each piece is quoted individually — the price depends on metal weight, stones, and the work involved. You’ll have a fixed quote, with a real timeline, before you commit.

Bespoke Commission

A bespoke commission is a piece designed for you, from a blank page. It might be an engagement ring with a stone you’ve inherited. It might be a wide gold cuff with hand-applied enamel in your colour. It might be the ring you’ve been describing to people for years and never seen on anyone else. Bespoke takes longer because it should — but the result is a piece that exists nowhere else in the world.

This suits you when the piece in your head doesn’t exist yet, or when you want a setting built around stones you already own — your grandmother’s sapphire, an opal from a trip, a diamond from an inherited ring you never wear. It’s also the path for our collector pieces, where each commission is numbered and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

How it works

  1. Consultation. A focused one-hour consultation with Natalia — by video call, or seated with her at our Paddington Markets stall on a Saturday (same fee, your choice of venue). $100 AUD, fully credited toward your commission if you proceed within 30 days.
  2. Concept and quote. Natalia sends a concept — usually a sketch and a written description, sometimes a wax mock-up — along with a full price estimate and timeline. One round of revisions is included.
  3. Stage 1 — 20% to begin. Once you’re happy, a 20% deposit kicks off stone sourcing. Natalia reaches out to her cutters and suppliers and sends you stone options to choose from.
  4. Stage 2 — 30% to lock the final price. Once you’ve approved the stones and the metal is ordered, gold price is locked and the total is fixed. (If the locked price comes in more than 10% above the estimate, you can step out with no further charge.)
  5. Stage 3 — 50% before shipping. When the piece is finished, you’ll see photos and a video first. The remaining 50% is settled, and the piece ships tracked and insured.

Lead time: every piece is different — heirloom-stone resets and pieces with multiple enamel firings take longer. You’ll have a real timeline with your quote, and we keep you posted at the bench.
Pricing: discussed during your consultation. Bespoke pieces vary widely depending on stones, gold weight, and complexity, so we quote per piece rather than from a list.

A note on heirloom stones. If you’re bringing your own stones, we examine and weigh them in front of you on the consultation call — we test, we don’t assume. If a stone has a hidden inclusion, a chip, or a setting issue, you’ll know before the work starts, not after.

Why your piece is in safe hands

Natalia is a member of the Jewellers Association of Australia (JAA) and the Gemmological Association of Australia (GAA), and has completed the Colored Stones course at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). In 2023 she was recognised with two category awards at the Australian Enamel Society competition. What that means in practice: every stone that goes into a custom piece is examined and tested in-studio before the work begins, and every piece is made to industry standards by a maker accountable to her trade.

See the full credentials & memberships page, or read about the maker on our About page.

Questions we get asked

How much will a custom piece cost?

Every piece is quoted individually. Made-to-Order adaptations are priced on metal weight, stones, and the work involved; bespoke commissions are quoted per piece during your consultation — the range is wide because the work is. In both cases you get a fixed quote before you commit, with no creeping costs.

How long will it take?

Made to Order is the quicker path; bespoke takes longer because it’s designed from scratch. Heirloom resets and pieces with multiple enamel firings run longer still. We give you a real timeline before you commit, and we keep you posted at the bench.

How do payments work?

Bespoke commissions are paid in three stages: 20% to begin stone sourcing, 30% to lock the final price once gold is ordered, and 50% before the piece ships. Made-to-Order pieces are simpler — usually a 50% deposit at quote and the balance before shipping. The $100 video-consultation fee (if you booked one) is credited to your Stage 1 invoice when you commission a piece within 30 days of the call. Full detail in our custom order terms.

Why charge for the consultation?

A serious consultation takes Natalia about two hours of focused work — one hour with you, plus another hour thinking through your idea and sketching first concepts before we meet. The $100 fee makes that time worth giving you, and it’s fully credited toward your commission if you proceed within 30 days. The fee is the same whether we meet by video or in person at the Paddington Markets stall on a Saturday — same hour, same prep. If we can’t find a slot that works, we refund it in full. If you just want to browse pieces and chat without a structured consultation, the Paddington stall is open every Saturday at no charge.

Can you work with stones I already own?

Yes — this is one of the things we’re known for. We examine, weigh, and test stones in front of you on the consultation call (or at the market stall on a Saturday) before any work begins. If we find something you should know — a hidden inclusion, a chip, an old setting issue — we tell you before, not after.

Can I meet you in person?

Yes — we’re at Paddington Markets in Sydney every Saturday. You can browse pieces at the stall any Saturday with no booking. If you’d like a focused, seated consultation with Natalia (about an hour, with stones and sketches on the table), book one above and let her know you’d prefer to meet at the stall — same fee, same prep, just a different venue. Our workshop on the Central Coast isn’t open to visitors.

What if I don’t like the result?

One round of revisions is included in every commission, before the design is locked and Stage 1 is taken. After that, the design is built to plan. Each piece carries a 12-month maker’s warranty against manufacturing faults, and resizing within the first year is included where the design allows.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. All international shipments are insured and tracked. Customs and import duties are the buyer’s responsibility and vary by country.

What materials do you work with?

9ct, 14ct, and 18ct yellow, white, and rose gold. 925 sterling silver and 999 fine silver. Australian opals (Lightning Ridge, boulder, crystal, white). Natural sapphires, emeralds, garnets, tourmalines, diamonds. Champlevé and cloisonné enamel. If there’s a material you’d like that isn’t on this list, ask — Natalia has worked with most things at the bench.

How do I get started?

Three options: book a $100 consultation with Natalia (video or in person at the Paddington stall, credited to your commission), send a written enquiry on the form above, or just come and browse at the Paddington stall any Saturday. We answer every enquiry personally.
