Coober Pedy dreaming, lit by a spark of green.
Slide this ring on and watch two worlds meet on your hand — the slow, shifting play of colour inside a solid Australian opal, and the sharp, vivid green of a tsavorite garnet glinting beside it. The opal flashes milk, pink, blue and green depending on the light; the tsavorite is pure forest-clearing emerald-green, bright as a leaf in sunlight. Held together by a 999 fine silver band shaped by fire, this piece feels both desert and rainforest at once. Wear it as the only ring on your hand or stack it with a plain silver band to give the opal breathing room. Expect a second glance from across the room — opals do that — and expect a question about the green stone, because tsavorite is rare enough that most people have never seen one.
Opal is the stone of imagination, emotional depth, and inner vision — October's birthstone, and long associated with Libra. Coober Pedy opals in particular are said to carry the dreamlike quality of the outback sky at dusk. Tsavorite, a rare form of green garnet found almost only in East Africa, is the stone of growth, renewal, and heart-opening vitality — garnet is January's birthstone and traditionally linked with Aquarius energies. Together they speak the Sunfire Seer language: the land, the cosmos, and the soul held in one small circle of silver.
Handmade on the Central Coast of Australia by artist-jeweller Natalia, part of the melted silver series where 999 fine silver is taken to the edge of its melting point and allowed to flow into its own organic form. No two bands are the same — every ripple, texture and curve is unrepeatable. The opal is sourced directly from Coober Pedy in outback South Australia and hand-set into the molten landscape once the silver has cooled, the tsavorite tucked in alongside. Because it's 999 fine silver rather than sterling, this handmade Australian opal ring will never tarnish — no polishing cloths, no black residue on your skin.
Tsavorite against opal is one of my favourite pairings — the green somehow makes all the other colours inside the opal come alive. — Natalia
