A pocket of lilac — pretty as a spring morning.
A single enamel flower in soft lilac and silver, small enough to live on your everyday chain and pretty enough to notice. At 26mm including the bail, it's a sweet, wearable piece — not a statement, more a private little luxury you pull up to smile at during the day.
Lilac flowers are a quiet symbol of first love and the optimism of spring. In Victorian flower language they stood for the first stirrings of affection; in folklore they mark the turning of the season, bloom rushing through the garden in a matter of days. A thoughtful piece for new beginnings, May birthdays, or anyone who loves something soft and romantic without being obvious.
Handmade by Natalia on the Central Coast of Australia using champlevé vitreous enamel. Recesses are hand-engraved into the 999 fine silver flower before each colour is packed in and fired. The piece passes through the kiln more than ten times to build up the depth of the lilac — every firing is unforgiving, so no two flowers are ever identical. Natalia uses 999 fine silver for the body because it takes enamel better than sterling, and a 925 sterling bail for strength where the chain runs through.
