Plique-A-Jour Wave Earrings

A matching pair to our Plique-A-Jour Wave Pendant, these earrings translate the breaking crest of an Australian wave into light and enamel. Where most enamel sits against a metal backing, plique-à-jour leaves the cells open — so when daylight passes through, the piece glows like a tiny stained-glass window. The French name means “flash of daylight,” and you’ll understand why the first time you wear them outdoors.

Each wave is hand-formed by Natalia in 999 fine silver, then fired in the kiln more than ten times, one glass layer at a time, until the surface is glass-smooth and perfectly clear. It’s a technique few jewellers still practise; each firing risks cracking everything that came before.

Materials: 999 fine silver with translucent plique-à-jour enamel; 925 sterling silver ear wires.

Dimensions: Each wave approx. 22 × 20 mm; total drop including ear wire approx. 42 mm.

Care: Enamel is glass — strong but not indestructible. Store flat, avoid knocks, and wipe gently with a soft cloth. Remove before sports, swimming, and sleep.
