Iris in bloom, set in silver.

These earrings feel delicate on the ear and unforgettable at a distance — two small blue irises, luminous in enamelled fine silver, catching light as though they still grew somewhere. Depths of blue shift across each petal: deeper near the centre, softer at the edges, with fine silver lines tracing the flower's shape like a botanical drawing pressed into metal. Beautiful against navy, white, or bare skin; light enough for all-day wear, distinctive enough that someone will ask you about them at the second glass of wine. A quiet statement for someone who loves flowers but hates floral.

The iris has a long, layered meaning — hope, wisdom, renewal, and messages passed between worlds. In Greek myth, Iris was the goddess of the rainbow who carried word between humans and the gods; in more modern language the flower stands for faith, courage and a valour worn lightly. Blue adds a layer of calm and clarity — the colour long associated with honest communication. If you're stepping into a new chapter and want something that quietly says so, this pair does it without fanfare.

Handmade on the Central Coast of Australia by artist-jeweller Natalia using a rare combination of two enamelling techniques: champlevé, where recesses are engraved by hand into 999 fine silver and filled with vitreous glass enamel, and cloisonné, where thin silver wires are shaped and soldered in place to create the flower's fine outlines, each tiny cell then filled with enamel. The piece is fired more than ten times in the kiln to build up the depth and brilliance of the finished surface; every firing is unforgiving — the colour only settles once the kiln cools. It's slow, patient work, and no two pairs of these sterling silver enamel earrings are ever identical. Finished with 925 sterling silver ear wires for comfortable daily wear.

Combining champlevé and cloisonné in one pair is a proper test of patience — I spend as long setting the little silver lines as I do painting in the colour. — Natalia
